This dish is too good not to fall in love with. Libyans truly perfected this dish by making it taste spectacular with not too many ingredients. Have tried this while adding rose water and/or orange blossom to the syrup and it still tastes divine. You've answered my question and I like the idea of cooking extra daal and putting the "gola" in the fridge for future use, but I still have another one!!! Since daal and rice cooking times differ, I won't be able to press either "beans" or "rice" buttons on the cooker. So should I do this manually? And can I make batatychya kachrya etc in EPC? Sorry to bother you but no one I know in Sydney has an EPC so you're my guru! You can cook extra daal and the usual amount of rice, that way, you have cooked daal, just add tadka (or mae it the way you want to ) the next time. I usually cook extradaal, this helps me to make amti / sambar/ varan / rasam as quickly as possible on weekday evenings. I have a question, have you ever put small stainless steel tiered vessels inside the big pot ( to cook small quantity of rice and daal) like we do in the manual pressure cookers. Since I am cooking for 2 most times, the huge pot may not be that efficient for me. Let me know please. Thanks and by the way I loved your animal sanctuary idea and photos :)Shubha Sanjay Athavalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08771026386909043471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31821541.post-12929586157459375082018-09-26T04:25:06.433-04:002018-09-26T04:25:06.433-04:00Thank you, Anonymous ( why not mention your name?)...Thank you, Anonymous ( why not mention your name?)
I’m glad you find this post interesting, however, I must urge you to read through it very carefully. This isn’t just a pictorial.
This is NOT a dump and go recipe.
In fact, it’s quite the reverse. There is a sequence of how you do things. There is logic and timing and accuracy.

To answer your other question, do you dump it in the IP? I wasn’t aware that IP in now available in India!
I’m also intrigued, How do you plan on carrying it on the flight, surely that isn’t wise, even if it is allowed!

So now, you just need to determine, whether you want to carry the IP or a rice cooker. Also understand how IP/ rice cooker and a pressure cooker work differently.

Once you figure that out and If you are really interested, please make sure you follow the instructions. Start at the very beginning, from lesson one ( process linked above). They are for your safety.
Hope this clarifies your doubts.
Manasihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07219295365602655534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31821541.post-41856458998148385892018-09-25T13:45:10.120-04:002018-09-25T13:45:10.120-04:00Ok the tadka thing is VERY interesting. I’m going on a vacation to the Far East in December with my 2 year old so this might be a lifesaver.
